La notizia era nell’aria, adesso è ufficiale. Mario Lemina è un nuovo giocatore del Southampton. Alla Juventus andranno 17 milioni + 3 di bonus, realizzando così l’ennesima plusvalenza dell’era Marotta. A diffondere la notizia sono i due club con altrettanti comunicati ufficiali.

ACCORDO CON IL SOUTHAMPTON PER LA CESSIONE DEFINITIVA DEL CALCIATORE MARIO LEMINA
Torino, 8 agosto 2017 – Juventus Football Club S.p.A. comunica di aver raggiunto l’accordo con la società Southampton Football Club Limited per la cessione a titolo definitivo del diritto alle prestazioni sportive del calciatore Mario Rene Junior Lemina per un corrispettivo di € 17 milioni pagabili in tre esercizi. Il valore di cessione potrà incrementarsi di massimi € 3 milioni al verificarsi di determinate condizioni sportive nel corso della durata contrattuale.
Tale operazione genera un effetto economico positivo di circa € 9,4 milioni.
Bianconero dal 2015, prima in prestito dal Marsiglia e poi riscattato nel 2016, Mario è stato un giocatore importante per la Juve, cui non ha mai fatto mancare il suo apporto di qualità, impegno e quantità.
Primo giocatore del Gabon a vestire la maglia bianconera, Lemina ha onorato sempre al massimo l’impegno, vincendo due Scudetti e due Coppe Italia, competizione nella quale ha disputato entrambe le finali all’Olimpico di Roma.
Mario ha segnato tre gol in maglia bianconera, l’ultimo dei quali ancora allo Stadio Olimpico, contro la Roma, una settimana prima di laurearsi Campione d’Italia 2016/17 e, curiosamente, è andato sempre in rete in trasferta (Napoli e Atalanta le altre marcature), anche se l’autorete di Cippitelli, in Juve-Cagliari lo scorso settembre, è stata propiziata da lui, in un match nel quale risultò tra i migliori in campo.
Più in generale, Mario ha disputato 2122 minuti in 42 presenze bianconere, vincendo 28 partite, pareggiandone 7: per 31 volte è andato al tiro, creando 16 occasioni, fornendo un assist, vincendo 157 duelli, 52 contrasti ed effettuando 1084 passaggi riusciti.

Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Mario Lemina from Juventus.
The 23-year-old today completed his switch from the Italian side and has joined the club on a five-year contract.
A senior international with Gabon, Lemina started his career in France, with Lorient, before joining Marseille in 2013 and then moving to Juventus in 2015, initially on loan, before completing a permanent transfer last summer.
In his time with the Bianconeri, he won both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia twice, and featured in last season’s Champions League final, against Real Madrid.
Vice Chairman (Football) Les Reed said: “Mario is an outstanding talent who has already achieved a great deal in his career, winning a number of titles and gaining experience of playing on some of the biggest stages in world football.
“Investing in a player of Mario’s quality and buying from a club like Juventus is a significant statement of intent from the club, and this is a purchase that has set another club-record fee.
“Mario still has his best years ahead of him, and we believe that he will not only be an excellent acquisition for us in the immediate future, but that he will also be able to realise even more of his potential here in the years to come.
“In a volatile market with some extraordinary and inexplicable transfers taking place, we are determined to go about our work in a diligent and correct way. This is a player who has won trophies and played in the Champions League final less than three months ago and he has signed for Saints amid a host of suitors.
